Number Memory test

Ready

Remember the number.

A number appears briefly. Type it back. Each round adds a digit. Three lives.

Needs to read a number on screen and type digits.

How this is measured

A number is shown, then hidden. Type it back. It stays visible for 1 second plus half a second per digit (at most 10 seconds), with a progress bar. Digits are random — leading zeros included.

You start at 3 digits; each correct answer adds one. A wrong answer costs a life and gives you a new number of the same length. Three lives; the run ends at 30 digits.

Scoring

score = longest number recalled correctly (digits)

Only an exact match counts. Your answer and the correct number are shown side by side after each round.

What can affect the result

  • Chunking strategies (groups of three or four) help a lot.
  • Distractions while the number is visible.

What this does not mean

  • Digit span is one narrow skill that improves with practice. It is not an intelligence or memory-health measure.
  • It is not a medical, psychological, neurological or hiring assessment, and it cannot diagnose or screen for anything.
